Lang was first built the night before a French test, as Nate, our founder, was trying to study a week's worth of material in one night. Online studying programs were failing him, as he spent about as much time studying as he did watching ads. This gave him an idea- he was a programmer, and he had made trivia games in the past, so why not create his own quiz site? Thus, Lang was created, originally a humble Python script, but little did he know it would grow into much more.

Lang's goal is to break free from the shackles of modern standards. Lang disregards the model of the modern internet by using absolutely no tracking or analytics, but still allowing you to access all of our online features. In addition, there is no data lock-in, as you can download your Lang Studysheets at any time, or import data from other services to your Lang library. Most importantly, Lang is built with everything you need and nothing you don't. We took time to ensure the experience can be customized to your desire, allowing each and every person to study in a way that works for them.
